The following information is taken from the brochure "The territory of the Forlì province", AER n. 1/92 and from the studies carried out by the Local Agro-meteorological Sections of the Rimini province based on SMR and local data.
THERMOMETRY
The climactic characteristics of the Rimini territory, in reference to Rimini specifically, can be summarized with the following data drawn on the Koppen classification scheme:
- average annual temperature 13.2°C
- average temperature in the coldest month 3.4 °C
- three months with the average temperature higher than or equal to 20 °C
- annual temperature range 18.8 °C
- These values place the Rimini province in a position which, due to is climactic classification, straddles a temperate sub-littoral climate and a sub-continental climate.

As regards the Winkler bioclimatic index, the study published on "Agricoltura", a monthly magazine of the Emilia-Romagna Region (n. 1/1992 edited by ESAVE experts, and quoted in the regulation adopted by the Region since 1993 relating to the integrated production) the territory around Rimini can be classified as being inside of a range of 1600 to 1800 degrees per day which indicates its specificity as "an area characterized mainly by the development of hills, where there is low to average fertility and scarce rainfall." (histogram n. 6).

The pluviometric regime presents a progress substantially similar to that characteristic of the Padana littoral coast, where there is an average total annual rainfall of 754 mm, equally distributed throughout the year; maximum rainfall of 229 mm in the autumn; minimum rainfall of 164 mm in the winter. The summer season has an average of 188 mm of precipitation while in the spring it is around 173 mm.
